iI think it all starwed since slavery, i mean come on, why america just become a new country at the year 1776 when they say that this country is a free country but they practice slavery and black people don't had any rights at all back then and the same gos for the women expect that their are not slaves.I think that black people are doing drugs, their drunking and driving, and doing more rape on girls than white people because i think it something got to do with black peoples or (africans americans) history in america. If their wasn't slavery back then, this country wouldn't even create this term "ganster", "white gold",these things that gansters wears on their heads, rap wouldn't be created. and their wouldn't be any one of these black peoples tv channels or the term "******" wouldn't be even invented. And then America may could of been a better place to live.

I vote with the people who say that the question is more an expression of your own prejudice than a real question.

If you are really interested in the answer, all the government surveys show that the rates of use by blacks and whites are about the same. No major difference at all. That's the fact, whatever your prejudices may be.

Now, if your next question was: Why do blacks go to jail for drugs so much more than whites?

The answer to that is that the laws were originally intended to punish minorities more than whites. If you are really interested, you can read an entertaining short history of the laws at http://druglibrary.org/schaffer/History/whiteb1.htm

It is my opinion that whites do drugs just as much as blacks. You will see more whites doing the cocaine, meth, etc. Also, white kids will get high by inhaling household products and by playing the pass-out game where they suffocate themselves. There are far more white child molesters. Maybe where you live, you don't see what whites do for they are very good at covering it up.

The drug problem exists for both blacks and whites. If it were only blacks doing drugs and getting drunk, those industries would be out of business as the population of blacks in America is only 12%. News flash: the entire 12% of the black pop. are not doing drugs. I know this because neither myself nor my spouse have ever touched a drug.

I don't know that they necessarily do. They may get more publicity, they may get caught by police more often - but it certainly seems that a lot of rich white folks are snorting and shooting and smoking it up with the best of them. I think the premise to the question is wrong. A lot of African Americans today are too concerned with putting food on the table to worry a lot about the drug thing. Rich folk have the ability to buy drugs more easily, and get away with it when they get caught.

I'd need to see some hard facts before I accepted that notion.

I have worked in Social Services for nearly 15 years and have two daughters who date black men. I am sorry, but this is a very sad myth that is brought on by people who teach theich children to see color instead of people and then they add all of they hate facts to the tally....this is not true, why don't you study up on the statistics before you ask another uniformed question. I believed young people today of any culture, race, color what have you are at a great disadvantage in the shape of this world, but if you look at the fine young men defending our country you will see millions of strong, beautiful black men!

Present-day American drug policy is as racist as your typical 1910s Mississippi/Alabama KKK rally -- complete with burning crosses and a murderous lynching. Blacks don't use drugs any more than whites--it's just that the laws were designed specifically for the cause of persecuting and disenfranchising them.

``God bless America.'' Yeah, right!

I don't think black people use more drugs than whites. Is it a fact or just your assumption?

Drug usage seems to be identical in any circle, regardless of race, color, sexvor ages. The difference is just the visibility. When whites or economically better equipped people use drugs, they can hide it better than others.

Wow. hmmm, so many conclusions based on.......nothing. I do not think "Blacks" do more drugs than Whites or any other Race. I just think it is perception and media bias that leads us to believe they do. I just think that it is another case of stereotyping. There is just as much drug use in Suburban America as in Urban America, it just goes unreported or ignored. As for your other conclusions, well.......never mind.

Honestly, I think that's wrong. Seriously, I took a psychology class and we did a chapter on drugs and it said blacks did less drinking and drugs than white people.

Blacks get caught more than whites, but that doesn't mean they commit more crimes. When one black person robs a store for $100, one white man may be stealing $10 million dollars out of your 401K retirement accounts and guess who ends up spending more time in jail.

I think they still tend to be a higher drug using race because they are being raised by drug users and then they have kids and they are raised as drug users too. Also a lot of black people are extremely effected by what is "cool" and not "cool". They seem to choose paths that are more torwards being cool and living on the streets rather than career choises to move up in the world of economy.
