when the time comes for college they decide that they are not going to pay. You are stuck with the bill and when arguing with them they say it is not their responsability to pay for college your 18. It is a privilage if we pay for your college not a right that we have to.

The type of parents that you don't deserve. It should be a privilege for them to pay for your schooling; they should be proud that you are in fact going to college. I'm sorry for your circumstances.

Well, it might not be the nicest thing in the world, saying they would pay and then not doing it, but they are right it's not their "responsibility". Maybe they had intended to pay, but the cost of living and the cost of tuition have both gone up so much that maybe they just can't. Look into financial aid and scholarships to fund your education. Depends whether or not they can afford to pay but it could also depend on how they percieve you. Do you stick at things and give them your all or are you one of those who start things and then have a load of reasons why you can't continue?

maybe your parents just dont have the funds?
If they do, they are wrong..but you cant squeeze water out of a rock.
Apply for scholarships. there are lots

my parents. well, technically they never said they would pay. i honestly don't think it was ever a thought in their minds. it was much more important to them to put in that hot tub.

I feel parents have to, don't they want to see you succeed, make good money? it's just like food and shelter, you said they have money? what happened? why they changed their mind?
