It is possible that you may have endometriosis. After your period is over, make an appointment with your GYN. They will likely schedule an ultrasound to see if it is indeed endometrosis.

Go to the GP and get it checked out. If this is not normal for you then it is not normal, but not necessarily dangerous. I have the most awful periods and clots that size are not abnormal for me. I had terrible trouble with the pill and I suggest thats where you start with the Doctor. If it is that, there is always another that will suit you. Don't suffer unecessarily, go and get seen and sorted. Good health and Merry Christmas! xx

the pill as you probably know has hormones in and these could be a reason why you are experiencing this. also wieght does have a baring on how heavy you're periods are.
if you are experiencing heavy blood loss ie: u need to change ur protection every hour then it would be a good idea to seek medical help right away,
but i would advise that you see your GP as hormone inbalance can also cause this...
i hope this has helped.
feel free to e-mail me or IM me
i'll happily speak about it, as i suffered from this for years

it could be endometirous (sp?) however it could also just be dismenhorrea which is very painful periods.
there are some options which you could find help but i would see a doctor to find out which is most suited to you.
i would get it checked out just in case to make sure its not anything too serious
