Most women don't pluck all of their eyebrows off, only the stray hairs. Though some people do it, it is not a common practice.
Possible reasons behind this action:
1. Don't like the natural shape
2. Don't like natural color
3. New hair color does not match eyebrows
4. Because it is a learned action

Wome don't pluck the entire eyebrow jus the stray hair surrounding it, Eye brow pencils are not to draw them on they are to add tone, shade or definition.

Not all women do this, I know I don't. I do know there is a fad right now going around where the younger generation is doing this, and what they don't realize is that their eyebrows won't grow back. My mom has a friend who lost her eyebrows in a fire, and they never grew back and so she has to pencil them in every morning. She looks funny w/o eyebrows (even though I know why) and I wish they would stop shaving off their eyebrows....people will look at them funny when they are older.

As far as I know, most women pluck stray hairs from their eyebrows.Those are the ones that are above or below the eyebrow line or sometimes across the nose bridge. They do not draw them back. They fill in the existing brow to accentuate or highlight it ...devoid of the stray hairs.

We pluck them to make them appesr tidy
some women shave them off only to draw them back on

Because with beauty no pain no gain.Plus would you date a girl with a unibrow?Or has more eyebrows they you?It's just a female grooming thing we like to do.

I've never known women to do this. We pluck our stray hairs to avoid the unibrow look or an untidy look. But we don't pluck them all out to redraw them on.
Now, there are some women who suffer from a loss of their eyebrows, particularly as they age. I've known older women to use an eyebrow pencil to fill their brows in.

Because they want a perfect set of eyebrows........ and if like me..... they get one good eyebrow and one bad as a result, they improvise by covering up the mistake

I know exactly what you mean. Luckily i haven't very thick brows, but if i did i might pluck them. What i would not do is get rid of them and draw them back on. Imagine if you were out and it rained- your brows would run off your face!

that's so called unsatisfactory of the real beauty, but honestly i do that too but not plucking all the hairs on the eyebrows. just wanted to try something new from ugly to pretty or from pretty to ugly. but there are men do the same as well...why don't you try???
