a delayed period from when a girl doesn't have her period the week she's supposed too. how long can it take until it starts?

It really depends on the reason why she's missed her period. As regular as some women are, something as simple as stress, weight change, increased exercise, or imbalanced diet. If it's one of these things, her period should start within a week or so.
However, some reasons are more complicated and even more of a cause for concern. Severe weight loss (such as that related with an eating disorder) would result in missed periods. Conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) can change a woman's menstrual cycle dramatically. And of course, pregnancy or nursing will also end the menstrual cycle.
Give it a little time and see if lifestyle changes might be the cause. If it happens more than a couple times - or if she doesn't get her period again - she might want to go to her doctor to make sure something else isn't going on. Better to be safe than sorry!

It depends on your genes and your life style. Some girls can go a long time with out getting a period because of stress, or other life factors. Some times it takes a whole month to get back on track, or even longer. A doctor can help diagnose it.

umm depends on the girl i have gone a couple months and i wasnt pregnant... some girls just have irregular periods!

i had irregular periods, i will get periods once in 3 months.
