The active ingredients for any FDA-approved medicine will be on the label. In medicines like cough syrup, the ingredients will often be on the inside of the label, an irritating new fashion requiring you to peel it off.

If you are looking for a medicine you are not currently taking, try the link below. It's the FDA's list of drugs and contains a fairly comprehensive list of active ingredients. If you're taking something marketed as a supplement, you kind of have to rely on the manufacture to provide accurate information, as they are not regulated in the same way.

Generally prescription medicines should only have 1 or 2 active ingredients which should be on the label. Over-the-counter medications may have several ingredients, but these should also be on the label. For prescriptions, your pharmacist is an excellent resource. Do you have a specific concern?

I don't know of any site that can tell you that. I got a medical book years ago written by a medical doctor from a book club that I value highly. I use it to learn more about medicine. Talk to your pharmacists and ask them if they can give you a list of ingredients your prescription contains. The OTC things, of course, should have the ingredients on the label.
