Yes, brackish water, in the wild, is in a river near an ocean, or estuaries,, for example, where salt ocean water mixes with freshwater. So, it is saltier than fresh water, but not as salty as seawater.

Brackish water should between 0.5 and 30 grams of salt per litre, or 0.5 to 30 parts per thousand, whereas salt water is 30-50 ppt.

Many fish live in brackish water, including Monodactylus argenteus, mollies and swordtails, certain puffer fish species, brackish water angelfish, certain gobies.

No, fiddler crabs cannot live in freshwater. At least, not for very long. They need brackish water and access to dry land.

Brackish water is saltwater from the sea that is mixed with fresh water from a river. Usually found at river deltas that flow into a ocean or gulf. The ratio would depend on where on the river, tide, water flow, etc. so there is no exact data on that point. Several fish can survive in brackish water. I live near Galveston Bay and on the many rivers that flow into the Gulf of Mexico I've caught Red fish, snapper, shark and flounder. I'm quite sure that crab can live in brackish water.

Hope this helps.

The difference in Brackish water is that the salt content is about half of saltwater. when a river flows into the ocean there is an area of brackish water in between. fiddler crabs if acclamted to fresh water can live in it. place a small amount of saly in your fresh tank the fish will love it and it helps everything grow. Good luck
