Most games lack playability. By that, I mean they don't offer any new innovations within the gaming world.
There have been a few needed developments however: RedOctane's "Guitar Hero" series has definetly brought some new features to the table. First off, it's original guitar shaped controller has been designed to promote people standing up whilst playing.
Also the fast approaching Wii from Nintendo has people having direct involvement with the games in mind.
Hopefully in the near future, other companies can offer a new innovation within the hardware, and if not, a new feature within the software at least.

Nothing.
It's our interpretation of what the games are like.
For example, many people dislike realistic shooter games, they say they promote violence.
On the other hand, only a very small fraction of the gaming community actually do change (even slightly!).
Thus, if an extreme case is presented (such as a kid killing his parents and saying he thought he was in a game), everybody is fooled to believe the games do that to all of us.
