I only think the drinking age should be lowered to 18 because kids will drink anyway, what ever their age is. I started when I was 14, not heavily, but because i could. I was smart about it and have never gotten in trouble regarding alcohol, and i dont drink and drive. Isnt the US the only place to not have a 18 year old limit? I dont think age matters, i think it has to do with being educated on it and having some common sense about it. You hear all the time about 40 and 50 years old getting pulled over for drinking. Should we limit the age to 60? I think it is up to the parents to help their children understand what the pros and cons of alcohol are and be there for them so they dont have to do it behind their backs. Maybe thats just because i was raised like that.
As far as doing things i knew i wasnt supposed to?....of course, isnt that what growing up is all about. You live and learn!

No the drinking age should not be lowered. Most 18 year old I know are very immature , give them a drink and all hell will break lose. I have done something I knew I shouldn't do and have regretted it ever since.

Uh, no.
Now, before you flag me, let me explain.
I lived in a place where the drinking age was lowered to 18. What happened is that the 18 year olds (who were in high school) were persuaded by the 15 and 16-year olds to buy beer for them. The net effect was lots of alcohol in the high school and lots of drunk driving deaths.
I'd settle for age 19 unless on active duty in the military. At least that way it would have a better chance of staying out of high schools.

The drinking age is just fine at 21. To those people saying if you are old enough to be in the military.... the answer is if you are in the military you can legally drink on post. Those of you not volunteering can just wait.
I do stuff all the time just for the reason I am forbidden to do it. No explanation, no excuse, I just do it!

Where I live the drinking age IS 18, and there is no difference in drunk driving, or accidents than when it was higher. 16 year old kids are still going to get alcohol, no mtter what the government does to stop it. And they are still going to do stupid things like drive drunk However, responsible producers and distributers of alcohol , and responsible government can educate people about the dangers of alcohol.

I live in Australia and the legal drinking age is 18. I think that if any teenager wants to drink they will, no matter what the legal age.

Absolutely . . . and yes.
It makes no sense to sequester college kids on a campus where 1/3 to 1/4 of the population is of age, and the rest aren't. It's a situation that breeds excess.

Yup! If they are old enough to Vote, old enough to give there life for there country then in my book they are old enough to drink.
Second question I can't answer because I always do what I think is right regardless of what others say. Selfish I know but I trust my judgment more.
