Does anybody know anything about income guidelines in Kansas for SRS to provide childcare assistance? According to their guidelines we would be making too much by about 200 a month, but we would be needing daycare for an infant and 3 year old. I know it says "case by case" but how true is that? It just seems to me that there's a big difference in a family of 4 with 2 school age children than one with much younger kids whose daycare is so much more. I just was wanting to know what to expect from anybody who's "been there and done that." Please be nice! Thank you!

Maybe you should call that office and speak with a caseworker or supervisor and be up front and honest with your questions. I am married and have four children, two teens and two twin toddlers. When the twins were born I quit work and stay at home, for the first time. We also made too much together for daycare assistance, yet did not make enough for me to work, my salary would have went to the daycare, plus I can't imagine all the days I would be off sick for two babies! I did get daycare assistance when I was the single mom of the two that are now teens. It was great. It almost seems as though the assistance program was geared more for single moms, to keep them off welfare and have them work. Good luck!
