My 10 month old was doing that to! She just started last week...to find out this week her 2 front top teeth are popping out. Maybe he is cutting teeth. Last night I rubbed some orajel and gave her some tylenol she went right down to. Good Luck and try not to stimulate him when he awakens. Keep lights low to.
Awww maybe he does not feel good?

If its just recently and has been going on very long he could be going through a growth spurt where they eat like crazy for a week or so and then they seem to sleep a little more than usual ( i never noticed the sleeping but I did notice the being hungry all the time with my daughter who is 21 months old now) Deal with it for a while and eventually he should stop as others have suggested let him cry for a few minutes until you feel like he is crying to hard and isn't going to go back to sleep... things will work out....

Well, i went through the same thing with my son..... What really worked for him was a dose of Tylenol ( upon his pediatrician's advice) as he was teething at that time. You can also try using an Ora Gel to ease any teething pain.... Also ( after asking your pediatrician) try adding some cereal to his last bottle, as he could be waking up due to being hungry. Also try not to give him long naps during the day
Good luck

Make sure he's getting plenty of time to exercise and jump around. If you need to play with him, sing songs, play patty cake, etc., do that. It sounds like he's going through a growth spurt.
The advice I got repeatedly is that you should hold babies as much as they want until 6 months, then start letting them cry for a bit before you go get them.
At 5 months, my daughter was starting to be more aware of her surroundings and didn't want to go to sleep if she didn't feel me there. Try holding your son to put him to sleep and wait a little longer before you put him down. Make sure he is in a deep sleep before you put him down. He may get past it. Just observe and you hsould be able to figure out what he needs if it isn't a phase.

let him cry it out.. If he doesn;t stop and go back to sleep within 5 mins or so try to give him a bottle that sould work... My son is a year old an still wakes up through the night.. sometimes he goes back to sleep by himself other times i have to give him a bottle.... they are cryin because he wants something.... try and figure out what it is and then put him to bed with that from there on out

I hate when people just say for the baby to cry it out. I want to make them cry it out!
Just soothe him back to sleep. maybe he is going through a growth spurt or even teething. Babies change their schedules often because of these.

every baby went through changes so many times until they turn toddler years. Just go with the flow. As long he/she is not hungry and sick, it is all fine.
