Do you have a photo together? Like maybe one from when she was a baby? Then you could put it in a picture frame or something.
Something meaningful is way better from a grandma.
She might not LOVE the gift......... but my grandmother used to give me $5 everytime she saw me. At first $5 was a lot but after a while $5 was nothing. After a while I guess I didnt really appreciate it. But I have a strong memory of all those $5 now. Anything meaningful will be nice cuz even if she doesnt appreciate it to the fullest now, when she gets older she will say about the present, "my grandma gave me this when i was 12.".
So while her parents get her that $200 pair of jeans that will go out of style in 2 years.....your present will be much more memorable.

It depends on your granddaughter's interests. At the age of 12 there interests change almost daily. Try to find out what she's really into-something that's been a constant for a while. Then search said interest on the internet and see what catches your eye.
Personal opinion: the girl really wont care what you get her, she'll just be glad that her grandparent cared enough to remember her on her birthday and put so much effort into making her special day that much more special.
Good luck!

I know it isn't very personal, but American Express gift cards are good. Also, if she lives nearby, how about a girls' day out? Maybe lunch and then shopping and she can pick out her own gift. My best memories of my grandmother were the Sundays that we would spend at lunch and shopping together. Good Luck!

Since she already has everything, why not get her something from the heart - it doesn't have to be big or flashy. Maybe get her a nice pair of earrings or a gift certificate to a store she loves.

Maybe get her a set of birthstone earrings. Just small studs, nothing too big. It will be something she can keep forever and remember you bought them for her. Good luck and God Bless!
