No, in fact even them going only once a week is perfectly normal.

If a child doesn't have a bowel movement everyday or every other day, the parents automatically assume they're constipated and that's so not true. Sometimes children and infants only need to go once or twice a week and it's perfectly fine. As long as they aren't having trouble going (can't get it out, hurts when coming out, etc.) they're totally normal.

No, your baby does not have to have a bowel movement every day. Each baby is different in their bowel habits. Some will go at every feeding and some will go only once every few days. My youngest did not have a bowel movement (except for the meconium in the hospital) until she was 10 days old. Then, she would go 4-7 days in between. She is now 9 years old and still only goes every 2-3 days. It is perfectly normal for her. If your baby develops a hard stomach and is in obvious pain (lots of crying and keeps pulling her knees up to her chest), then you may want to have her doctor take a look. I had my daughter in 3 times as a newborn because I was worried she wasn't pooping. Her doctor always checked for an obstructed bowel, but she was always just fine - soft tummy and perfectly happy.

The Dr says it's Ok for the baby to have a bowl movement often-like everyday because their system will get rid of all that stuff they swallow during there time in the mommy's stomach.

Babies go from pooping every time they eat to once a day. But at age 3 weeks baby should be pooping very often. More then 1 time a day 3-4 poops minimum at that age. along with 8-12 wet diapers.
My 5 month old poops only once a day now.

No. its not necessary. Breast fed babies have less bowl movement than bottle fed babies. Some babies go as often as once a week.

definite, that is familiar, as long as she isn't straining and her poop isn't super not undemanding, she is high-quality. as quickly as each 2 days may well be familiar for a new child (and a few adults). in simple terms be particular she is getting a lot of fluids (water, formula) and which you're blending her formula wisely. Pooping as quickly as each 2 days isn't any reason to rigidity!

Just pay attention to what is normal for your child. Some kids go a couple times a day, some kids go every couple days.
