I don't like labels, like liberal or conservative, since it makes people think they know what you believe on an issue before every hearing your stance. But I would consider myself liberal if i have to choose a label.
I personally think that a society should always be looking for ways to improve. Nothing is perfect, but a society should have it's primary goal to be constantly improving and changing for what the people think is best. I also think that everyone should be included within the society and the society should include everyone. This means that those who need help, should get help provided the society is capable of giving said help. Lastly I think all opinions and ideas should be openly listened to and allowed to have a voice. There is obviously about 100 pages of things I could write about my core fundamental beliefs, but this is the most basic of what I could come up with.

I consider myself more of a moderate, but lean more to the liberal side, so I'll answer this one. I believe more in a bright future as opposed to looking to the past. I think there is a vital purpose for government, but also believe there should be adequate checks and balances. I believe that industry won't regulate itself, that they have dividends instead of people in mind. I believe human impact on the planet can't be adequately measured by the limited science we have now, especially considering the short time we've been able to actually document our impact. I fully support religious freedom, what ever it may be. I believe English should be our national language. I believe that politicians and government should be able to stand up under public scrutiny, and if they can't we need to get an honest administration in. I believe that EVERYONE should serve this nation in one form or another, and that in doing so you EARN the right to vote. Most of all, I am a patriot.

I personally believe that my personal life is just that my personal life.
I believe that people should marry whomever they want as long as it is a consenting adult, I believe that talking can overcome alot of things if you make an effort to understand the other persons side, I dont mind paying high taxes because I live in the greatest country on earth and want to keep it running, I understand the illegal immigrants desire to come to this country, who wouldnt want to? I feel empathy for everyones situation and try to understand how they got there before judging them. I want to leave the world a better place for future generations. I dont place commercialism and love of money above human kindness. I value the Constitution and everything our founding fathers gave their lives for. I might not agree with someone about something, but I would always fight for there right to say and believe what they believe.

unfortunately party on some issues is described by comparison, such as civil liberties... it's easy to say you support keeping civil liberties.. but republicans and democrats draw a line in the sand and ask people to step on one side or the other on this and other similar issues.... such as what is "moral" (stem cell, abortion) and so we pick a side on these issues based on our beliefs versus the line in the sand. for me i believe that stem cell research using cells that are going to be destroyed anyway should be allowed.. if they are going to the fire we might as well get a little use out of them... i believe in freedom of choice.. but i also believe it should be a state regulated, rather than federally regulated issue and that states that do allow it should respect the choices of other states by not allowing minors to have abortions without parental consent...I also believe that counseling should be required both before and after abortion to make sure it is truly what someone wants and that they adjust back into normal life after wards... i believe in preventing the need for many abortions threw sex education in schools.. i also believe that sometimes people need a little extra help.. sure the system we have now isn't perfect, and some people are taking advantage of it.. but do we punish the majority because some people aren't responsible? if a better public welfare system comes along i will support it.. but for now this is the best we have. I believe in separation of church and state.. and seeing as how public schools are heavily funded by public money you either have to teach all religions in school or none at all... if a parent wants to have their children raised in a religious school they should find a way to get them to a private school.. states have vouchers and many churches will help fun such a decision. I believe education and public health are more important than policing the world. I also believe in the advancement of our technologies threw government, as well as private funding.. i don't believe because you make more money you should have to pay less to live in this country.. we all live here as equals, why should we not pay as equals, with the exception of those that truly can't... I'm sure I'll think of more later.. but there you go for now.

We look at things in an honest and enlightened way, seeking through knowledge to solve the actual problem. It is easy to complain about things, most liberals take action to correct those problems!

We look around at things like homophobia, sexism, racism and say things have to change for the better and then we see that it's done.
