There is nothing like best sport as each has a following from different fans. But the sport with a great following is football, but my wife never understands it and so do many women. Ironically, women outnumber men worldwide, so it can be said to be the best because of the huge sums of money in sponsorship.

Team Sport - either hockey or lacrosse, fast, tough and challenging
Individual Sport - golf or maybe a track event like the Decathalon

As a team game...football - cant beat the atmosphere and the excitment
as a more relaxing option...Snooker - very good to play. Have a few beers with a mate, its very theraputic.
Anything but American football (bloody americans with their stop start games....BORING) or Golf (hit a ball and walk for 500 yrds trying to find the damn thing only to find its in a lake)

Soccer is the best! It is so much fun to play, and to watch. And actually we are not the only country to change the name. Australia sometimes calls it soccer too. And we didn't come up with the name soccer. England did.

SKIING or ICE HOCKEY
You can ski ANYWHERE and you don't need a special court or something (except a lift but sometimes not) and you can go really fast and its sooooooOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOo much fun.
Ice hockey is also a fast sport and its so satisfying to win a game. I LOVE THEM
