My friend just moved for college, but she still wants 2 call me. She has a cell phone but I currently dont have one. So I have a few questions, she gets free mins after 9pm. Now if she calls my house in a differnt state, she still wont have 2 pay anything will she? Will I have 2 pay anything?

Thanks.

It depends on her plan.

If her plan includes your state, then the calls should be free to her. If her plan doesn't include your state (some folks do still get a local or home state calling plan), then it will cost her $$ per minute.

She will need to check her plan coverage.

It really depend on the carrier she is with, for example if she has a T-mobile phone on one of there nation wide plans, then she wont be charged any long distance (LD) on her cell, but will be charged minutes out of her plan, during peak hours, so at night she could talk to you forever and there is nothing to worry about, now for your home phone that depends as well what company your with, but most dont charge LD on incoming calls. But that landline providers mostly.

You will have to pay the standard long distance charges for you phone..depending on that your long distance plan is. As far as she goes...if she has free long distance and free roaming then No it won't cost her anything. It really depends on your carrier honestly. But try it and see what both of your bills come to and make a decision from there. I can tell you that it will be cheaper on the cell phone than from a land line now a days. Good Luck!!

You said she pays zero after 9pm so that takes care of her. I've never head of a landline phone charging for any incoming calls whether it be long or short distance. If so Verizon is gouging you and I'd look for a different landline company.
My brother has Verizon in NYC and I have Verizon Wireless in a different state and after 9pm my minutes aren't used and he pays nothing when I call.

my verizon home phone (in Cornish, Maine (about 45 mins away from portland maine) does not charge me for incoming LD calls if they are either from
1) a verizon home phone
---or---
2) a verizon cell phone

all others, YES they charge.

she will be charged nothing... extra (if nights and weekends... NOTHING!!) if she has cingular, u should get cingular too so that no matter what, you can call each others cell phones 4 free. if u were talking on a cell phone sitting right next to you, you would be charged the same as if they were across the counrty from you.

Most cell phones have free long distance and free minutes after 9pm.

You should check with your landline provider to see if you pay anything for RECEIVED calls, including long distance received calls. Usually you don't, but it varies by provider. Simply call customer service and you can usually give them your account number and question the policy for your plan.

good day.... in case you do not have a nationwide plan including your on the spot agency, and also you holiday to North Carolina and dial a NC volume that is community to the position you're at present placed, you is purely no longer charged for lengthy distance, even if you'd be charged for roaming. once you've a nationwide plan, or NC is lined in a plan as your community calling section, no longer purely will you no longer be charged lengthy distance, you is purely no longer charged for roaming both. wish this facilitates!

If she calls after 9, she won't pay because she'd be using nighttime minutes and you wouldn't pay because she called you.
