So I have a class ring from a guy who graduated in 1989, I tried the white pages online but got nothing, i found a few sites that have records of this guy in my city but i have to pay to get the information. Does any one know how i should go about finding the owner of the ring? I know the school, but i dont know if they could help since he graduated a while ago.... any suggestions?

I suggest going to the school office and ask if they have a record of him, or if he's on a reunion contact list. Or, you can go to www.classmates.com and search his name,

If you know what school the ring is from, I would start there. Maybe someone there can tell you how to get in contact with him, especailly if it is a High School. They might have his last contact information due to a class reunion. You also might want to call anyone in the area with the same last name, and see if they are relatives. Good Luck!

The ring should have some sort of mark from the jeweler who created it. You can call that jeweler and see if they can trace the records for that particular ring based on the year he graduated, the fact that it's a man's ring, and the school he was graduated from.

You should call a guidance counselor at the school. They should keep records of that stuff. If they don't, you could at least get some ideas of where to check next.

Also, post it on Craig's list. I don't know how big your town is, but alot of cities have a Craig's list now. And the guy might not see it, but someone he knows might. It wouldn't hurt, and it's free.

Contact the school they should have a record of him and his last known address. It might be his parents address but i am sure they have a way of getting in touch with him. He will be very grateful that you went though all the trouble to get his ring back to him.

Ooh that's a tough one. I guess just go to the school he graduated from and see if they have a post-graduate address they they have in the system. That's about all I know. Good for you, being a good Samaritan!

locate the school it came from, they may be of some help. they may have parents contact info. they probably wont give his info to you but may be willing to make the initial contact and foreward your info to his family so that he may contact you.BTw what you are doing is very honorable. I lost my ring several years ago,and as trivial as a thing it may be, i wish i had it. good luck finding the person it belongs to, im sure they will be greatful for your efforts.

I think it is so nice of you to be so honest and want to help.
Maybe your local paper has a section that is free in the classifieds for lost and found. Check out the first few sections of the classifieds in your local paper for Lost and Found. Also you could turn it in to the local police department's lost and found.
