Hon, we have all been there at one time or the other, skinned, I mean.
If your BF knows you have little or nothing, then indeed he will understand. Just be there, as someone said, cook him a nice meal, and well, if you squeeze real tight maybe you can buy him something very inexpensive and really make his day. One Christmas a past girlfriend gave me a used book! She actually got it for next to nothing at a charity shop. But she made it special by writing something sweet in it. I still have it some years later.

How about making him some gifts. I'm making my boyfriend a 'coupon book' with things he can redeem throughout the year. It's sort of a love coupon book, with things like "redeem for one huge hug", "redeem for a nice romantic dinner", anything you can think of that you think you and your boyfriend would like.

Another thing I thought of was making him a big tin of his favorite cookies or candies. I'm not sure of your ages, but that might be a good thing for you.

What about a mixed CD? If you've a CD burner on a computer or know someone who does, you could get a bunch of songs together that remind you of him, songs that the two of you like, or just songs that he likes in general and make him a CD

Also, a nice gift might be a picture of the two of you in a nice frame. You can find inexpensive frames a loads of places like Big Lots, Walmart, Target, etc. Might even try the dollar stores!

Gifts don't need to be expensive or even bought, it's the thought behind them. I've made my boyfriend a lot of homemade things and he loved them (we're both adults too).

Hope this helps. Have a great Christmas.

Make him a nice dessert or make a gift. You can make "gift certificates" for him. Like "Good for one back rub" etc

I know how you feel. Christmas is coming soon. In January we have lots of birthdays: my twins boys, 2 nephews and a sister-in-law all within 4 days. And 10 days after that is my husbands. My husband Dad was also born in January but he died. It's like Christmas all over again .

Good luck

Don't worry for a start. Christmas and birthdays are just one day. It's not worth getting in a state about and certainy not worth getting into dept over. If your family, boyfriend and friends think anything of you (which i'm sure they do) just explain that you're short of funds and buy a bottle of wine or chocolates if you can afford and give everybody a drink or a choc on you.

It's the things you do rather than the value of a gift which mean the most, go with what other people have said - a nice meal a cheap bottle of wine and an early night sounds nice to me! As someone else said just two days in a year....

Cheap birthday pressy that will make him smile. Get a long thin piece of wood like a ruler, draw marks on it like a ruler and print LOCAL MAP scale 1 mile = 1 mile. Put it outside and take him to it. make wide sweeping motions with your arms and say how do you like your map baby.

He will never forget that - maybe good or bad thats up to you but I guarantee taht in 10 years time thats one pressy he will remember

Hey, you don't have to spend money to show people that you love them. My wife buys me my favorite candy bar or writes me a little note or card telling me how much she loves me. That means more to me than some purchased gift. When I receive something like this, I treasure her time and effort in making me a little gift. Make a cute card - you have a computer, so use the software to make a unique card. Use your imagination - make it sexy - good luck!

I think you should make a gift for him. If he really likes you then, he would apprieciate a homemade gift. My sister made a snowglobe last year and you can find the instuctions on the internet.

Give him certificates for a back and foot massage....from you.

Knit him something.

Plan a romantic meal that is low cost(you cook and set up something).

Plan a potluck(everyone brings food) party for him that invites his friends.

Clean up where he lives.

Clean his car.

Do his laundry for 2 weeks.

If you have an intimacy level that allows for it you could wear something special for him.....or do something "special" for him.
