I'm 14 yrs old and need hearing aids. A couple months ago I was told that I'm losing hearing rapidly. They could either do a risky surgery or hearing aids, course we went for the hearing aids.

I'm getting them on thursday, but I'm a little nervous about ppl making comments at church, my nephews pulling them out, ect.
I'm afraid, I'll look like a dork.

I also have a crush on this guy so, thats a problem.

Can you give me any suggestions on making my experience a little better? My nephews are 3 and almost 2. So, if I don't have my hair perfectly so that their not visible then they'll get pulled out. My sister wants to braid my hair on christmas but I don't want her to.
I'm really nervous, girls any new hair styles I can try to cover them in public? Anyone?

I don't know what kind of hearing aids you are getting, but the one's that I've seen in commercials are small enough that you'd have to look in your ear to actually see them. But from what I remember a kid that I went to school with had the kind that looped over your ears. So if that's the kind you get and you want your hair to cover them, do an off center part and barette or clip your bangs right around your ears, depending on where is comfortable and how you like it, leaving the rest of your hair down to cover. Or a wide head band/wrap. As for being nervous about the comments, I'd just be happy that you can hear them, and if any one has something insensitive or rude to say, let it go. And little kids are just curious, if you tell them not to touch they should know better. As for Christmas, if you don't want your hair braided, you're old enough to decide how you wear it. Last but not least, if the boy you have a crush on doesn't see how wonderful you are with or without hearing aids he isn't worth the thought you gave him. Don't worry about looking like a dork. Put your chin up and your best face forward and PROUD and you'll look great.
