It really depends on his tastes and his age.
Clothing, sports equipement, a concert ticket, a sports events ticket, books, DVD...
I know my boyfriend told me that things he would like to have include wrenches and other working tools. So really listen to the tastes of your boyfriend and try to find something he would enjoy according to his tastes.
You can also give him something that isn't pricy such as a whole body massage (if it's something you feel like doing), a kind of scrapbook with things you shared together, some CDs of his favourite music and some music that you like and want him to discover (you can always burn things).
