I totally agree with your last sentence. While I love kittens and puppies, kittens rule my heart. I have a cat that will be 21 yrs. old March 2, 2007 named "Columbus". I would do anything, within reason, for him.

I would rather get a kitten as a Christmas present. They are a lot easier to take care of than a puppy and with the chaos of the Holidays, I think it would be the wisest choice.

A puppy. Two words, litter boxes! Yech! Puppies can be paper trained, than trained to go outside.
Don't get a specialized breed, because sometimes they have health issues.
Go to your local Humane Society, or check the paper, or the Internet. Also, your local Petco and Petsmart stores have adoptions periodically.
Think about pet insurance, if you get a pedigree.
Good luck! Start buying chew toys!!

till I asked for a living creature as my own accountability for the subsequent 10 or so years i would not p.c. the two. If I asked to get a puppy i might like a basket of candies for the puppy i might bypass to the seem after and p.c.. out myself with the giver. A relative of mine gave a superbly gorgeous labmix domestic dog as a ask your self to a relatives buddy who had reported he might like a lab some day. This dogs grow to be no longer the purebreed the buddy had in strategies and the extra youthful fellow did no longer experience he grow to be responsible for it and it ended up as my family members situation. That fuzzy handfull got here approximately to have paws the dimensions of many grown human palms and is now 110lbs. Kittens grow to be cats, domestic canines grow to be canines. it particularly is biology that human beings bypass all fuzzy in the strategies while they see a helpless toddler mammal, do no longer enable the endorphins that shop you from ingesting your guy or woman youthful trick you right into a decision you will would desire to stay with for a protracted time. do no longer supply a living creature as a present day till you're very effective the reciever needs that distinctive one. That mentioned, as quickly as I actual have my degree and a earnings to help my own home without landlord to assert nay, i might want a miniature longhaired sable element dachshund from a magnificent breeder, to maintain the seem after dogs or cat i might have by employing then enterprise.

I think I'd rather have a kitten....unless it was a Pug or a Yorkie. Now those are cute dogs. My 2 year old daughter's world revolves around cats, so I'm sure she'd rather have a cat.
