I totally agree with your last sentence. While I love kittens and puppies, kittens rule my heart. I have a cat that will be 21 yrs. old March 2, 2007 named "Columbus". I would do anything, within reason, for him.

I would rather get a kitten as a Christmas present. They are a lot easier to take care of than a puppy and with the chaos of the Holidays, I think it would be the wisest choice.

I think I'd rather have a kitten....unless it was a Pug or a Yorkie. Now those are cute dogs. My 2 year old daughter's world revolves around cats, so I'm sure she'd rather have a cat.
