Two ideas,
Get her favorite movie on DVD or Video and watch it with her. That way she can spend time with you and you can enjoy an old movie like Gone with the Wind or The Red Shoes, or something you know she likes.
It is better than a cross necklace. She is too old to want jewelry, things mean very little when you get to that age. Memories mean much more than things.
If she isn't into watching a movie, maybe get her a box of candy, something nice. Everyone loves candy, chocolate. Something she will enjoy that is just for her. Get a box for yourself too so that when she tries to share with you, you can say, "No grandma, that box is just for YOU".
Grandmas are precious, enjoy her as long as you can!

Spend some time talking to her before christmas. Ask how her life is going, what she's been up to. And I'll bet you anything that you'll be able to think of the perfect present for her, just from the conversation.

if you or your family have got enough money why not take her on a trip to a place outside barcelona called monserat. it's a fantastic place (note:it's high on a hill so be warned) and it's where the holy mary was spotted in a cave. it's great if you've got the money and its far more better than an manufactured item. But it's not that expensive if you fly with a cheap company like ryanair or easyjet. i hope she likes her present whatever she get's. happy christmas.

How about a really fancy nativity scene? They make them in all kinds of pretty materials, and if she's super religious, she'll love that you gave her a gift that really celebrates the true meaning of Christmas.

You're probably the best Christmas present to her. Don't deny her by replacing your company with her with some ordinary gift which she probably won't use or enjoy for long. She will cherish your company and your presents with her for the rest of her life! Talk to her and let her know how special she is to you...everyday!

My grandma's favorite was never a gift I got her (but she did like the night light I got her a lot! ) She loved it when I came over and she got to tell me stories about her and grandpa. That was her favorite. I asked to see her letters from him. It was a great Christmas for her.
