Well of course there is the missed period or irregular bleeding (i.e. very light bleeding). I also noticed that I had much sorer breasts than normal and that I had symptoms similar to my period. More than anything, I did not have distinct physical signs until I was about 2-3 months pregnant. I did everything planned as normal and no one even knew I was pregnant (as far as family and friends are concerned) until I was about 4.5 months. The early stages are often undiscernable until about 2.5-3 months when you may feel like you're getting bad morning sickness. Good luck with everything!

I've been pregnant twice and they are these:
You missed your period
Bloating
Breasts are tender and sore
Feeling unusually fatigued
Feeling light-headed or a little nauseous for no apparent reason (the nausea may not just be in the morning, ie. "morning sickness" . With my second son I felt it 24 hours a day!
I knew the day after I conceived with both of my sons---don't ask me how I knew, I just did! Also, some people have no symptoms at all, other than a missed period, so none of these are written in stone.
To avoid miscarriage:
Eat well, have a physical, exercise, and get plenty of rest BEFORE you try to get pregnant. If you can't always eat right, then at least take a supplement daily that includes folic acid (this is know to prevent neural tube defects in the fetus.)
If you know you are pregnant, cease smoking, stop drinking, get plenty of rest, and do not take drugs of any kind until you check with your doctor first. Eat well, and do not skip meals. Check with your doctor about a supplement for pregnancy. As soon as you suspect you are pregnant, see your doctor, get it confirmed, and follow-up with regular visits to you doctor. Also, there are no stupid questions, so get an obstetrician that you trust and fell comfortable with---don't be afraid to call his office for answers to your questions.
Good luck!

I noticed I couldn't tolerate smells before anything else... I was a smoker, and all of the sudden just the hint of the smell of smoke would have me running for the bathroom. I didn't notice having to pee alot... except when I realized I couldn't sleep through the night without having to get up at least once. As for the missed period, it sounds obvious, if implantation bleeding occurs (which happens right around the time you would get your period) it can make things a little confusing because you might think you got your period!

Some good websites are babyzone.com, webmd.com, babycenter.com. They have lots of good articles of symptoms, and staying healthy. Common symptoms: Sore breats & nipples, nausea w/ or w/o vomiting, missed period, mood swings, frequently having to pee, and cramps. To avoid a miscarriage make sure you schedule an appt w/ your doc and get a physical and have them check your levels before trying to conceive to make sure everything is normal. You can't always prevent a miscarriage, but always remember that everything happens for a reason. Good Luck!

Sore breast, sleepiness, missed period. At least for me. Be sure to avoid aspirin, it is especially dangerous in the 1st and 3rd trimesters, but you shouldn't take it at all anytime during pregnancy. Good luck.

Being more tired then normal. Nausea from smells or getting up to fast. Tender breast. period like cramps with no bleeding. Good luck and the best thing you can do now to not miscarry would be to not drink or smoke. eat healthy do not lift more then 30 pounds. also take your prenatal now. you can take it even if you are not pregnant. its good to have in your system anyway for when you do get pregnant. good luck

If a M/C is going to happen it will happen. I think 20% of all pregnancy end in M/C (Not sure if thats the right %)
Sore bobbs were my first sign and period type cramps!

there is not much you can do to avoid a miscarrage. Of course don't do drugs, you should be able to do everything you were able to do before you got prego.
Another thing avoid nipple stimulation this can cause your body to start contracting there for causing a misscarage.

Check google "signs of pregnancy" and stuff like that. If you missed your period there's a big chance. Make sure you don't smoke or drink of course!

Missed period is the most telling. Other symptoms can be nausea, sore breasts, tiredness. Don't drink, don't smoke, don't do drugs. Other than that, there's not much you can do to avoid miscarriage. If it's going to happen, then it's going to happen.
