I live in london and have to commute around the city every day. From my experiences, I have found African people to be extremely rude and ill-mannered and inconsiderate. For example, kissing their teeth, arrogantly waving down buses for them to stop, taking their shoes off on the bus, barging past people and not appologising, not saying please and thank you, etc. I think people sould learn good manners before they are allowed into this country. Maybe in their own country they can behave like savages, but over here people are supposed to be civilised. It is not only Africans though, many different people are similar (mostly foreigners), but mainly it is African people, through my experiences.

I feel sorry for you, not sure if you're racist, or simply ignorant. But if in the year 2006 you still haven't learnt that what in a country is normal is rude in another, you're a bit behind with the times, and very intolerant.
It's not only English that know manners, you know? English know about THEIR manners.
I live in the UK and I love this country and its people. Yet, I see how English girls wear miniskirts and little tops in muslim countries, where it's considered way above rude, it is offensive and against their religion, yet, they do it. They kiss and hold hands in the street, which I don't disagree with, but those people do, so maybe they should show some consideration and respect.
I also see how English go to mediterranean countries and get pissed and destroy everything that comes in their way, they throw up and fight on the streets, and they have sex in every corner of every beach. That might seem like they're behaving like savages to the locals, so maybe before you go on holidays anywhere, you should learn THEIR good manners BEFORE YOU'RE ALLOWED IN THEIR COUNTRY.
You say over here people are supposed to be civilised, so, is it only when they go abroad that they are entitled to behave like hooligans??
Some countries/cultures do not see the need to say please or thank you because it is implied or just a smile will do. Maybe here it's so overused that it ends up losing all meaning, or do you really mean it every time you say "sorry"? I doubt it.
Do not generalise and open your mind, you're not the only one in this world. Learn to accept everybody else for what they are and how they come, you're not better than anybody out there.
Fortunately, London, and the UK in general is full of very welcoming, open-minded, wise people who can see beyond those little differences.
Those are the people who make the UK a great place to live, maybe you should reconsider what group do you want to belong to.

That is a heavy question. You will find rude people in all races of life. I have been to many places in Africa and have met some very nice polite people. London has for many years now had a reputation for arrogant and ill mannered people especially grumpy commuters. So you see it is wrong to generalise about people when quite clearly you are wrong. Sorry but you asked.

Sure they're not Nigerian?

I don't think you should generalise like this. Most Africans seem to be very respectful, well mannered and considerate in my experience.

Nice rant though!!!
