Johnson's democratic dream was called the "Great Society." In fact, domestic policies were what Johnson was most dedicated to and concerned with. He dreamed of being the next FDR. Unfortunately, he inherited a deteriorating military situation in Vietnam and decided to launch a full-scale invasion. The Vietnam conflict used up much of Johnson's political capital and so he was not able to achieve as much of his Great Society as he had hoped. As a result of this, Johnson left office and died a broken man.

That would be LBJ's 'Great Society'.
Socialism on a scale never before seen in the U.S.A. at that time, but which pales in comparison to what we have now.

The great society. Where he took money from honest working people to give to welfare bums. And where he continued the war in vietnam to the cost of 10's of thousands of U.S. military lives. Great society? I think not.
