ok, and on www.creative.com it says that there are no computers necessary, you just use the line-in cable to connect your player to a cd player and you can transfer the songs straight from there. well does it work? if it does can you transfer songs off someones ipod straight onto the zen?

Yeah you can get music/pics/videos off of any computer if you install the software.

The songs will stay on unless you reformat or remove them

The software that it comes with the player allows you to choose what folders you want to import music from. You can also choose individual songs if you don't want the entire folder.

The way to transfer songs from line-in is to connect the player to the device containing the wanted music. From the main menu, go to extras, then Line-in Recording. Press the record button, then start playing the song you want to record. During transfer, hold the back buttons to acess the Pause, Stop, and Split options.

yes you can download songs from any computer and yes they will stay on. Its very easy to get songs on the play. just drag and drop songs from the drive that says removable drive.
