Brookfield Zoo and Lincoln Park are open all year round. At Brookfield Zoo,the nice thing is that most of the animal houses are close to each other,so you can be inside most of the time in the winter.BE prepared for a lot of walking and if you have children ,besure to use a means of trans portion for them .You can rent buggies etc. at the entrance gates.I lived in Brookfield for many years and the zoo was always a place to go at least twice a year.The zoo has many animals and that is why it is so large.Lincoln Park is a nice compact zoo ,but limited on animals.Great Primate House.I now reside in Tennessee ,but Brookfield is in many of my fond memories.

Not all zoos are open year round. It depends on the reletive weather and the needs to keep the area clean and secure. AReas with lots of snow become hazzardous for customers as slipperly sidewalks are a recipe for insurance claims. Many zoos close their doors and keep only a skeletal staff for taking care of the animals. Zoos in areas like San Diego, Florida or Texas and the like are open year round.

Both zoos (Lincoln Park and Brookfield) are open in the winter. Right now, in the evenings, Lincoln Park is running its annual Zoolights Festival. And Brookfield is doing its Holiday Magic festival. Been to Zoolights and it's a lot of fun seeing the park at night.

The zoo in Springfield MO is open year round. It is a little zoo so I would think most are open too. Just search for your zoo's website and it should tell you.
