The only thing that should be important is are you qualified to do the job, not color of skin.

It is never about the skin color. It is about: do you show up for work? Are you always on time? Do you work well as a team?
Do you take pride in your work? Do you work hard and seek out more to do if finished early? Do you dress appropriately, so the
high-ups are sure you will present a polished looking employee?
Do you work well with others and treat them with respect? Do you accept a new task as a challenge or whine ? Those are the most important things employers consider when deciding on new employees or promoting employees. Not skin color!

The colour of your skin should not be an issue! It's the QUALITY of the person that matters NOT the colour!

If you have the right quality for the right job, colour of the skin is not an issue at all!

So, do you have the right qualities that they are seeking for? Or are you part of those who does not have the right qualities and got rejected then blame on the colour of their skin? Which is an excuse that lazy and unproductive people uses all the time.

In my last job as a recruitment consultant, I dealt with quite a few companies, some were very selective about the race of the person they employed, not because they were racist (1 was) but because they wanted a good balance of races in their company and it was important to be selective to prevent any one race becoming predominant in the office. They didn't say that to me, but it was an underlying piece of knowledge.

It shouldn't be, but, unfortunately, they do screen people based on their race. I had a good friend with a very good resumé and good educational background in accounting and finance. He is Latino and applied at a big company. He said that most of their staff was white. They gave him a run-around, asked him to go for about 4 interviews with no intention of hiring him. He never got the job. Fortunately, for him, he now has the job of his dreams at a different company. He, also, works for himself.

it shouldn't be a big deal, but some people make it a big deal. everything should not come down to color, it should be base on the experience of the person.
