Your Antenna is just a physical piece and doesn't assign an IP Address nor routing functions. The software behind your antenna is what provides routing/switching functions.

An example of the "old School" way before wireless routers were affordable, was to use 2 Nic cards in a server using Server software that would assign an IP address or accept one that was staticically assigned.

Depending on what type of Wireless Antenna distribution you connect to your machine and any software that you put on your machine to provide routing functions, I would use server software and not just XP or Win2K.

Of course the cheap way is to go to Best Buy or some discount store and spend the $10-30.00 for a Wireless Router.

I hope this helps : )

No, your antenna will only be that, an antenna.
