I loved this show. I liked the 1st season the best. When they started with all this Tess stuff I stopped watching it for a while, and I have seen re-runs on the Sci fi channel of either the 2nd or 3rd season. I never found out why Tess turned evil, or rather what she did. I know they send her back "home", and she got pregnant with Max's son. I never saw whether Max found out that Liz really didn't sleep with Kyle, and that it was part of a plan by the future Max.

Me me me me !!!! I love it!! I didn't ever see it when it was on, but I rented the discs and then bought them all.
Tess was always evil. She had made a deal with Kavar, the king of Antar since Max has been gone. While Liz was avoiding Max, he turned to Tess in his pain of losing Liz, and Tess got pregnant. The big evil that she did was that she used Alex to translate the book out of alien language. she mind warped him to do it and eventually destroyed his mind, then made it look like he died in a car accident.
Yes, Max found out that Liz didn't sleep with Kyle when he was saying goodbye to her. When Tess told him the baby couldn't survive on earth, they fired up the Granolith and were heading back to Antar. When he told Liz that Tess was prego, she flipped out and it slipped "I saved myself for you!" and then she had to tell the truth.
All the other aliens stepped out of the Granolith when it all finally came out that Tess killed Alex, and only Tess returned to Antar. The baby was rejected because he came out fully human so Tess returned to earth at the last of the 3rd season and brought Zan back with her. Everyone hopped in a VW van after graduation and skipped town.
They concluded everything really fast and S3 wasn't a complete season.

I loved the show. I rented all the seasons through Netflix. Sorry, I do not remember why Tess turned evil and the other stuff about Max.
I was happy when in the end Liz and Max got married.

OMG! I loved it too! Yeah, I kind of stopped watching with the Tess stuff too. I watched some of the reruns on Sci-Fi as well. I loved Max and Liz's chemistry. I read the episode guides on TV Tome ( think that was what it was called) for the last few episodes. I didn't get it though.
So, did they end up together? I asked my hubby for Roswell DVD's so I can watch it from start to finish.
