As an actual organic chemist about to complete his Ph.D. I can tell you the following unequivocal statement: There are no "four" categories of organic compounds. Any classification of organic compounds would be completely arbitrary. You can decide to classify them based on functional groups, effect, physical properties, etc. I could make up categories that would have 2 or 2,000,000 types of organic compounds.

Therefore whatever four stupid categories your teacher or book are asking you about are four categories made up by your stupid teacher or book. Sorry to break the sad news to you, but it sounds like you're just being fed crap so they can ask you to memorize it for a test.

(i)chemically non-reactive (inert for e.g. nitrogen),

(ii) chemically 'reactive',

(iii) biologically reactive (i.e. form chemical bonds to receptor sites in mucous membranes)

and

(iv) toxic compounds.

For Some B...Mr Soon to be Ph.D., how about you list only 20 more categories that would be different from the four that I have listed. Also, give at least one example for each new category that you list and explain why the compound you are mentioning can't fit under any of the four category that I have mentioned. Thank you in advance. By the way good luck with your Ph.D.
