When you say older or younger how much of an age difference do you mean? As long as you really know what the older person wants, and understand all that goes along with that, OK. But if you do not, and only believe a stupid line that he or she gives you, that they love you just to get what they want from you, then do not go there until you really know the person. Usually very young people hear things from older people that make them feel older, more mature, and important. Unless you can tell if it is truly love and not lust, don't make a foolish decision and mess up your life.

If the younger person is a minor (16 and under) and the older person is an adult (21 and over) there's a problem. Granted in some small cases there is actual love between the two but personally, to prevent the kid from having relationship problems when they get older, it's just better to avoid it. (Especially with the possibility of jail time at your toes)

I've dated women ranging from 8 years younger to (ahem) decades older. I generally prefer women older than me.
but either are okay for consenting adults.

I think neither is wrong, as long as they're both mature adults who are in the relationship for the right reasons and are able to work around the age-difference issues.
Just curious, why is this question under the gay/lesbian/bi category?

So long as both are CONSENTING ADULTS, there is no problem with either.
If, in either case, one party is under the age of 18, there are already laws in place to handle that.

As long as they are both consenting adults I dont see any moral issues involved with age differences.

Age is in the mind, what really matters is love. This does not include the minors though.
