I'll help with one, then you can do the rest.
1) 3Y - 8 = 16; add 8 to both sides to get
3Y = 24. Divide both sides by 3 to get Y = 8.
Use the same logic to complete the rest of your homework.
Good luck!

1. 3y-8=16
3y=16+8
3y=24
y=24/3=8
2. 5c+7=-28
5c=-28-7
5c=-35
c= -35/5=-7
3. -8y-11=13
-8y=11+13
-8y=24
y= 24/-8
y=-3
4. Is it 2/ (3p-7)=17??
if it's then:
2= 17(3p-7)
2= 51p-119
51p=121
p=2.3
** I think that's not what the problem is, so make sure where your parentheses are, and repost it!
5. 4y/5=28
4y=140
y=140/4
y=35
All you are trying to do is put ur variable in one side of the = sign and the numbers on the other side of the = side. Then just add or subtract or divide the commone ones to find out what ur variable is>

1) 3y - 8 = 16
3y - 8 + 8 = 16 + 8
3y = 24
(3y) / 3 = 24 / 3
y = 8
2) 5c + 7 = 28
5c + 7 - 7 = 28 - 7
5c = 21
(5c) / 5 = 21 / 5
c = 21 / 5 or 4.2
3) 8y - 11 = 13
8y - 11 + 11 = 13 + 11
8y = 24
(8y) / 8 = 24 / 8
y = 3
4) 2 / (3p - 7) = 17
[2 / (3p - 7)] * (3p - 7) = 17 * (3p - 7)
2 = 17 * (3p - 7)
2 / 17 = [17 * (3p - 7)] / 17
2 / 17 = 3p - 7
(2 / 17) + 7 = 3p -7 + 7
(2 / 17) + 7 = 3p
[(2 / 17) + 7] / 3 = 3p / 3
p = [(2 / 17) + 7] / 3 or 2.43
5) 4y / 5 = 28
(4y / 5) * 5 = 28 * 5
4y = 140
4y / 4 = 140 / 4
y = 35
