I read a chapter book when I wea a pre teen about a witch who was upside down. She got into a little girl's room somehow and asked the girl to help her get right side up again. I don't remember much of the story except for a part where the witch takes a shower and the bath rug gets stuck to the ceiling. The rug is later used as a flying carpet to help the girl gather the things the witch needs to get right side up. I also remember the witch would suck on glass like it was rock candy.

Does anyone know the title? I mentioned the book to my daughter and now she wants to read it, but I can't remember the title.

That sounds like a book from my 2nd favorite childhood author, Ruth Chew. She wrote a ton of great books that all had magic in them. She wrote them quite a few decades ago, but people are rediscovering them.

Here is a website about her, and if you scroll down you will see all the titles
