write down everything that comes to mind. Then go back and sort it all out.

Start by trying to brainstorm the main ideas you want to discuss. Write down all of the important things you want to include in your essay. From their, figure out which are the most important ideas in the writer's work.
Next write an outline. Include each of the main points and then include supporting points for each main point.
Once you have all of the that- Add an introduction and conclusion and then just sit down and write everything out.
