An acre of 'land' on The Moon. I'm aware that it will be just a piece of paper.

The Outer Space Treaty of 1967 was signed by a large number of nations including the USA. In that treaty, the nations agree that the moon is open to everyone and not owned by any nation.

So if you purchase an acre of "moon land" from lunarembassy.com, which goverment will recognize your claim given that all them have eschewed juridiction?

There cannot be a 'legitimate' website because no-one owns the Moon and cannot sell any of it to you. Anyone 'selling' you a piece of the Moon is getting money for literally nothing!

I'll sell you 10 acres up there for $5,000. Just kidding, of course. You may want to start by asking who owns the moon. I would think that if you could get there, you could just claim whatever you could fence.

One side is not always dark.... the days on the moon last 27.3 earth days. One side is never visible from the earth.

You can't buy the moon. Nobody owns it. Anyone claiming to sell you plots of land on the moon, is a scammer out to take your money.

i do not belive it possible to buy a piece of the moon. i have read articles of people buying an acre of the moon such as elvis. but really who can sell what they don't legally own. it would surely be fraud/ theft.

Try ebay.com: They sell everything. I am sure they could also sell you a Plot on the moon.

Or you could try in a bookshop among Isaac Asimov's works: You are sure to find many "Lunar Plots" for the taking

The only place you can get moon bits is by way of NASA as they are up to now the only logistics firm who do the trip, and I don't think they are selling.
