I will teach them that if they feel like hitting a man they will be hit back, if they don't want to be hit, then they should not hit. Simple as that. A man will only hit a girl if she hits him first, and a man should never hit a girl first. My daughters will know this.

"A man will only hit a girl if she hits him first".... oh what a innocent world you live in. If only that were true. The sad truth is that there are all too many men who will hit women, and make them feel like they deserve it.
People should teach both their sons and daughters that hitting (or any sort of physical violence) is wrong, no matter who does it to whom. And even if someone hits you, it is better to simply walk away from the relationship than to stoop to their level by returning the blow.

Okay - what is up with the paternalistic attitude toward women in here?!?! Not only is it patronizing, it's insulting. Women are just as capable of moral agency and rationalization of men - and thus they're just as knowledgeable about the consequences of their actions as are men. I'm not going to hit someone without expecting them to hit me back - and neither would most rational women - it's condescending that you people think otherwise... So, if I were to strike someone, I'd have already gauged my ability to win a fight with them. If I decided I was unlikely to win, I'd not start the fight in the first place... ( And, btw, I'm not in the habit of picking fights, anyway.... and I don't at all endorse violence on either side) It's not misogyny to allow women autonomy over their own personal safety. Come on! If a woman is 'dumb' enough to hit a woman or man bigger than her - then the consequences are hers to accept... To claim otherwise is to negate a female's autonomy! And that's not a good thing .... no matter how fluffy the idea of 'protecting women' seems to you people...

A few years ago I would have argued with you on that, but since I moved here to SouthEast Missouri I have noticed alot of women getting angry and hitting there man and then running to the cops yelling abuse, so I too will teach all my kids boy and three daughters there will be consequenses for hitting. So yes I agree.
But I will also teach them that violence dont solve anything, and to never let anyone man or women hurt them.

Well, I have 2 baby daughters.
My plan for raising my daughters is to develop a bond with them.
I want my girls to grow up observing the way I treat their mother as an example. My Wife agrees to the way we operate in front of the kids. She know that the kids growth has a lot to do with the way mommy and daddy treat each other. The Parents are the model example for everything.

What kind of environment do you and your daughters live in that you have to go into such detail in teaching them about hitting people? I think I'll be teaching my daughters to make life choices that will hopefully allow them to avoid this issue entirely. My advice would be, focus on getting your daughters to appreciate the value of education, motivation and success; teach them common sense and critical thinking skills. Education is key in getting out of squalor and ignorance, and into the light of day where people resolve conflicts in civilized manner.

Okay. But thats not true that if a girl doesnt hit a guy that he will not hit her back- so why dont you focus more on morales such as saving it for marriage and love instead of fighting.

This is true, but also teach them that if a man hits them or in any other way violates or assults them without provication that all bets are off, and kick him in the nuts so hard that he spits them out.
