My stop is coming up on the train. I say to the woman next to me, excuse me this is my stop. She looks at me with this absolute look of dread in her eyes. I am about to find out why. Unbeknownst to me she had packed herself into the seat in a manner reminiscent of the game Tetris. In order for her to get out of my way she had to first extricate herself from the luggage fortress she had built around herself. Once I was freed from this I started looking at all of the women getting off of the train. Most of them had a bag slung over each arm and many were also pulling a piece of luggage, the one with wheels. The only women who had just one bad were the students who had a neatly packed book bag on. The rest of these women all looked like they were heading for the airport. What is going on here?

This is what I have when I am in public.
Cell phone, keys, wallet, Glock 23 .40 caliber pistol. All of these things I carry and none would be the wiser.

Maybe they were all going to the aiport ;-) Well as a woman, I have a gigantic pocketbook. Mostly because I always think I "might" need something or want something that is in it, and by carrying it all with me, I will always have it.

Well unlike men women can't fit everything into one bag. If they are going to the airport most people prefer carry-on luggage if it's a short trip. Now say it's a weekend they've packed for, well you have two going out outfits, what if both outfits require different heels? Because the black heels you packed won't go with the brown outfit for the other night you planned for. Then there's the makeup bag, most women can pack the necessities, but then they back the extra stuff 'just in case'. Then say they wanted to stop to get a snack for while they take the train, well, there's another bag right there. OU and they pass a magazine they want to read on the flight, there's another bag, or more bulk. If they are business women, they more than likely will have their laptop bag with them... It all adds up...

women need alot of things.. they arnt simple you apparently know that.. so its more convient to carry those things with us so they are handy when needed... ever been in a situation where you perhaps get ink on an expensive suit shirt and feel self conscience about it all night.. well... bet your bottom dollar a women would have something in that bag of hers to not only remove the stain, but to make the wet spot left over stylish with a cute little pin or something to cover it up.. just think about it.. we've got alot of quirks to our bodys which calls for preparation..

This happens all the time. My question is why do people do it during rush hour when thousands of other people are trying to go to work. It amazes me that these people think that that would be a good time to catch a flight or even move from one place to another.

Men are hunters and women are gatherers. We gather, that's what we do, and we need a place to put 'it', what ever 'it' is. For some reason as we get older though, we gather more things.
Those things becomes baggage, and in the end, we really just need to let a lot of it go.

haha...its true. Women likes to carry everything that they think they will need. Here is some list of things i carry in my purse..and my fiance always yell at me for carrying so much stuff around. i have, dental floss, makeups, wallet with all the credit cards, cellphone, organizer, camera, mints, notepads, pens, snacks, headphone, hairclips, sunglasses, house/work/mic car keys...just all these are something i will need..and my purse is so heavy...sorry..but girls need all this...=)

As a woman, I like to be prepared. I don't carry too much since I am a little simplistic but other people I have asked have claimed its because they fear being unprepared.

Women need to feel comfortable at all times.
Never leaving anything behind and they are prepared for anything the day throws at them.
By bringing along their "Lilfe" they feel comfortable enough to face the days journy.

We just like to be prepared. And yes we are better at multitasking, so perhaps there are more things we foresee needing things for in a day than men! :)

well the next time you fall off the train and break your leg and one of those ladies has a first aid kit in all their "luggage" youll be ok with it .
