It's more than likely a wire that's gotten disconnected. Easier to just buy a new pair than try fixing it.

Depends on what's wrong with it. Most likely though it's the wire in the rubber/plastic that's become disconnected. You could repair it but it's a lot more worth it to buy new ones.

probably just the headphones. Buy a new pair.

Could be on ipod end. That would suck.
