robbie with and ie, not a y was in a band called the jayhawks that originally were bob dylan's backing band when he went electric in '65. they then, left on their own and began calling themselves the band.

well there is two bands really or maybe three. the first one was The Hawks whom Robertson played with Ronnie Hawks who wrote "Suzie Q". He also was in the band that backed Bob Dylan and of course the Band
