All tropical trees are discounted right now, so I want to buy some. But its about 30F at night and 55F during the day here in southeast Texas. If I buy some should I plant them immediately, keep them in what they came in or just don't buy them??

I'm down in Houston, and landscapers are still planting tropicals. If you have the room, I would also recommend keeping it garaged at night until spring. If the tree is huge, you can plant it, just make sure you don't damage the roots or overwater it. You can feed it a good Palm food on the initial planting, and not touch it again till spring. Just mix the food in with your backfill before you fill the hole. The best I have found is the Carl Pool Palm Food for this area, found at independent garden centers(not Box Stores).

I am about 4 hrs from Mexico, and this is the perfect time of year to do most planting, palm trees included

If you buy them now, keep them inside where it is warm. Wait till spring to plant. I'm in Dallas, and I would wait till spring.
