I had to get my PS2 fixed for my boys. I had gone to this website:
http://www.us.playstation.com/support/ps2/hardwaresystem/default.html
I eventually ended up calling them and was able to setup to send it in to get a refurbished PS2. It cost $45.00 + shipping and handling ($25). You need to make sure it's well packed, I even got insurance on the package w/ a tracking number. Within 7-10 the refurbished one came and has worked great ever since.

Hope this helps.
