I would not purchase on e bay any other way. Pay pal offers you protection from being scammed as well. A friend purchased a golf cart on e bay. The seller would not accept pay pal and moved the transaction out of e bay also. Because it was not sold directly through e bay there was no protection on the purchase. This was a scam and my friend never saw the golf cart.
Along with pay pal, make sure to complete the transaction through e bay to avoid being scammed

Not a 100% safe no! I have fell victim to Pay Pal and E bay awhile back. I would make sure you have extra protection on your computer. And on the credit card for that matter.

BothI would say as Paypal and eBay has been stepping up security they have sophisticated devices that can track your computers isp adress. From this unque tracking code they are able to tell if someone has hacked your account. Also they are able to offer advice through live chat if you have been hacked. Before this was not available. Both companies are interlinked and have added millions of pounds funding security measures they know when people are shill bidding in Ebay case and paypal are able to help costumers against frudulent sellers. Overall they are both reasonabaly good but as a organisation holding over 130 million users it is hard to kepp track of security all the time sometimes there are errors but these are in very minute cases.

I have used it for a few years and never had a problem.
I just recently had to file a claim because someone on another site I bought something off of ignored my messages and wouldnt send my item. But I think because I DID file the claim, the moron finally sent it out.
like mikem said though, if you get emails that say they are from PayPal, watch out. There are A LOT of phishing emails that go out posing as PayPal. If it says "dear PayPal customer" or something to that effect, report it to PP.

PayPal is safe and was so before it was part of Ebay.
I use it all the time and it is my preferred method of paying for Ebay (and on occasion non-Ebay) items.
If however you do not feel safe to entrust your own cards to PayPal, you can get your own PayPal credit card or one of those out there designed simply for internet usage which change their numbers ech time they are used.

Paypal is very safe to use.
However, make sure you look after your login details particularly if you've got a credit card registered.
Cheers.

Paypal is very safe! No one can draw on the account unless you authorize them to do so. If there is a withdrawl on your paypal account that you did not do, then you can dispute it and as long as you give them the info, paypal will investigate it and return the money to you if found in your favor.
