on the contrary, i believe that men care about people's feelings.
perhaps we're not as demonstrative as our female counterparts, but we still care!

Did you say something? Actually, men do care; they just show it in different ways. While a woman might go, "Awww" when I share a problem, a guy might appear stoic, but actually help me with it. You're overgeneralizing, which is a stereotype, and this area of Yahoo answers is supposed to be for those seeking help AWAY from stereotypes. You've just met the wrong men. My partner is one of the most amazing men I've ever met, and most of my male friends are awesome. I could call any one of them right now if I had a serious problem, and they'd make a point to be there for me, if not by showing up, then emotionally. You need to drop the loser(s) who have caused you to have this opinion, and hook up with guys like the ones I know. I'd say 90% of the population is good and the remaining 10% is made up of the men you are talking about, and politicians. So get out there and try to meet that 90%!

Now I am a woman and necessarily not all mean don't care about people's feelings an nor do all women. So,just find someone who does because I'm sure all the people you've dated wasn't all the men in the world. So next time try to ask a question that's a little less stereotypical, then probably most of your answers wont get offended.

not that they don't care about others, just that they have probably been trained to only care about themselves. That is fine but everything has to be balanced in order for things to work properly and men's egos can easily throw that balance off. Help those unbalanced folks learn how to be even better than they think they are by being better than them and have the balance to become an example...

We do - just not the same why as whiny, needy, high maintenance people ;)
The problem has to do with "orientation" Ironic word choice in this forum - quite simply men biologically see things differently and with cultural emphasis become extremely goal oriented. Women usually do not.
Its one of those wierd things we just can't explain - just like the unwritten Rules of being a guy - I know guys I violated protocol mentioning our rules - but at least I didnt say them

I think that you've way over generalized both men and women in your question. There are many men (if not most) that care about someone's feelings and there are many women that don't care about other's feelings and vice versa.

All human beings (except sociopaths) have the capacity to understand and care about other people's feelings. The United States tends to condition its male children into not showing their emotions, which makes it seem like they do not care even if they do.

a bad experience should not cause you to characterize people. my husband is a very caring man, who always asks how I'm doing or how I'm feeling.

Because they don't understand them. They only have a certain range of emotions for themselves.
