Thanks for your excellent question. God will give you the inner peace that you desire. People may tell you many contradictory things but this is what actually works:
First, invite God into your mind, soul and spirit because God will not enter where God is not invited. Second, listen to the inner voice within you this is the Holy Spirit who will be your teacher (John 14). Third, be kind, then become kinder, then become the kindest person you can conceive of being. Fourth, do a self-analysis to eliminate biases, attitudes, beliefs and habits which are inconsistent with the love, peace and beauty of God. When Michelangelo was asked how he was able to create the masterpiece of the Statue of David he said I took the stone and removed what did not belong. You must remove from yourself that which does not belong. Fifth, strive to be happy engage in activities which are consistent with the path to God and which give you joy. Joy will help synchronize your mind with the mind of God. Through this process you and God will light the light of knowledge within you.

take a week off of work. dont watch t.v. or listen to the radio just spend that week being creative and do some deep thinking.
one of the first steps to finding inner peace is finding and accepting yourself.

Make yourself a blank slate. Throw away all that you've been told to believe and start your journey there. Discovering what you believe, and what you hold as true will give you the greatest sense of peace.

out with the bad, in with the good - literally, i'm not being a joker - if things around you or about you bother you, then change them, but change them for the good - practice peace and you will find peace....
that said, i dont know what else to tell ya... some people find peace in Christian life, others in Alaska, and yet others arent satisfied unless they have a job that requires 80 hours a week from them and they dont have time to themselves - everyone's peace is different is my point... you will have to find it... good luck

If you are truly ready there is no better place to start that with a book called the course in miracles.
It has brought me more internal peace than words could ever describe.
I'll bet it would work the same way for you.
Love and blessings Don

Start with your faith... that was given to you by God, while you were in your mothers' womb..He gave every man enough faith to believe in him...Then...Let Christs' peace come into you when you accept him and his peace...He said.." Peace unto you, my peace I give to you". There is no peace or safety in this world, without him....Hope you find it...Yuke
It's Christmas time....Peace on earth and good will to all men....Yuke

On whatever road that connects to another road that leads you to the nearest shrink you feel comfortable talking to and can trust. They can prescribe medication and in 2-4wks your journey will be complete.

first you need to figure out self-realization. know who you are, know what you are not, and dont force it either way. if you are a highley stressfull person, it might be imposible. people dedicate their whole lives to find inner peace(monks), without even finding it. inner peace is not somthing you can force, or study, its somthing that you discover
