i lost my password to my Ibm widows 2000 laptop.....?

i cant get in....how do i do it.......? it wont let me erase either so what should i do?

You need the original XP disk, and run it in Repair mode. At one point you can pop up an admin console and go reset the password.

The asker says it's Windows 2000, not XP.
This tool will allow you to manually override a Windows password.
