Well thats tricky. There are more than one different form of an ipod, where as there is only one Zune. If you take the ipod video it is nice for sure, and compare it to the Zune they are both basically the same as far as hardware. Sure the Zune has the biggger screen but thats not worthy of getting it alone. But, right now the software is the key, for uploading music and downloading so forth. Right now the ipod has it beat hands down, but should you wait maybe less than a year with Windows Vista and the Xbox 360 getting bigger the Zune will grow in leaps and bounds. So if I had to get one right now myself I would probably grab a Zune because I feel that Microsoft will not give up on the Zune and continue to make it leaps and bounds nicer, just as they are doing with Windows Vista and slowly with the XBOX 360. But, I prefer long term buys and not quick impulse buys.

There's no question: Ipod and apple products hands down. Here's why: the Zune is the "it" new gadget that Mircosoft spent close to 100m in advertising for it's launch, so understandably, a lot of people are talking about it. What Micrsoft is trying to do is break into the MP3 market. Fair enough, but they don't have any history of producing such products, it's their first. And any product that is a first is going to have problems. My roommate bought one and when she plugged it in to her PC it crashed the thing. Blue Screen of death, the whole nine yards. Plus Apple is launching its iphone in Jan (cellphone meets Ipod). I'd wait for that, but then again it's that new product issue. Maybe a video Ipod instead? In either case check out a product comparison site, they're a great tool to learn about products. I bought my Ipod video off of (http://wize.com) it was pretty easy to compare it with other MP3 players through their site.

buy an Ipod, apple is a more established company. The programs run better and there are more guides for using it. The thing about your battery running low can be avoided, you need to keep it warm, and don't use the buttons as much and your battery won't drain that fast.
