i am 8 weeks pregnant and on the weekend i got a brown discharge, like after your period. it lasted for a half a day and then i started to bleed red blood. i had a few clots, which i know is a bad sign as ive had a miscarriage before. ive had a few cramps, they were not to bad though. i have a scan booked but it feels like ages away. as you can tell im still a bit hopeful its ok but im not getting my hopes too high. also my breasts arn't a tiny bit sore anymore.

I wouldn't say definately a miscarriage at this point. I know it's hard to wait for the scan but of course you know that's the only way to know for sure. I will tell you I have a little girl sitting on the couch behind me reading Goodnight Moon and I bled bright red with clots, at 6.5 weeks and 8 weeks, when I was pregnant with her. It could be a miscarriage or it could be a subchorionic hemorrhage. Those tend to be no big deal and heal on their own. I think that's what I had with my daughter. I also had one with my son but didn't bleed at all with him- go figure. I only knew I had one because they told me on the ultrasound.

If it's worth $50 for you to find out sooner you can go to Fetal Fotos any time and get a confirmation of pregnancy scan. They tell you if there is a heartbeat.

I found out I was pregnant at 2 and 1/2 weeks because of severe stomach pain. I had some spotting and bled maybe one day. I went to the ER and they told me it was a "threatened abortion" which is the same thing, I'm 31 weeks now, but I have had some problems throughout this pregnancy. This is my second pregnancy, I had a miscarriage early in 2008, They told me the same thing then, but I wasn't spotting. I miscarried at 18 weeks due to stress. They called that a "missed miscarriage". It's highly unlikely if she was bleeding that the baby would survive, I'm sorry to put it that way, but there's really no other way to put it. Hope for the best! Miracles do happen!

I am so sorry-that sounds almost exactly like what happened to me.I ahd a miscarriage at 5 weeks with my 1st rpegnancy. It started out brown then turned to bright red and clotting and cramping.I really hope there is a chance that everything is still fine with baby-but I do know where you are coming from with having a miscarriage.I wish you the best.

It could be a miscarriage, but then again it might not be.
I had two quite massive bleeds when pregnant, one at 17weeks and the other at 27weeks, I was convinced I was losing the baby, but it was nothing, and they never found out why it happened. It is quite common for unexplained bleeding.
On the other hand, if you have had cramps as well I don't know. I think it's best you wait for your scan, I know it's really hard but it's the best way.
Good luck.......

I must be honest and sorry to say it doesn't sound too good. I know you say you have a scan booked but why haven't you gone to hospital already. I would call your local hospital maternity unit, advise them whats happened and they should see you. When I bled with my first pregnancy I called and was sent in straight away to the early pregnancy unit and was scanned immediately. make a call.
Good luck xx

Red blood and strong cramps are cause for concern. However, your cramps sound like maybe they weren't that bad. I have heard people say they've had the same symptoms and their baby was just fine. Please make an appointment for an ultrasound. They will check to make sure the baby is still there and that its little heart is beating. Take it easy in the mean time - don't exert yourself. Good luck!

The same thing happened to me....spotted and a few days later bright red blood and my chest no longer hurt at all....I hate to say this but I miscarried. I am sorry for what you are going through. I know exactly how you feel and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Its time to stop wondering and seek medical help. This is only stressing you out and that is the last thing you need at a time like this. You have been through this before but you never know how it will turn out....until you see a doctor!!!
Put your mind atrest....and good luck
