Wow is that a crock... You might ask what percentage of atheists support welfare and what percentage of Christians do... I think you'll find the most people who sit and complain about people defrauding the system and quote that insidious 'The Lord helps those that help themselves' comment happen to be good old Christians. You'll also find that atheists donate more to charities than Christians as per percentage of their salaries. Welfare is based on the notion that humans must help other humans. If you want to give Christianity credit for that, why stop there? Why not say that Christianity is the reason there is oxygen in the air and the reason why babies smile?

Oh great--another indigent newbie!! Another nobody that wants to propagate a belief he was told for convenience sake. Social justice, the principle that made our nation great, the same priciples that probably led to your conception and your parents prowess, are not policies that lead our country into bankruptcy. Take 10% of our war budget and give it to those on welfare and we shall not have homeless or poverty. So you'd rather see a corporate robber baron buy another mercedes than a number of Americans given a free meal. Get a clue!!
