I honestly don't know. I admit I download music, but I also subscribe to Yahoo Music where I am paying a yearly fee to add albums and stuff to my MP3 player so the artist are getting what the deserve.

Now myself with downloading a song I see which albums I would like and which ones I wouldn't. When I do buy a CD is it almost always one that I have downloaded first (through torrents or somewhere else) seen that I like it, listen to it TONS & and want a good hard copy of it. I seem to think a good bit of people do this so I would think CD sales would be up right??

But I must say I felt guilty with Weird Al's "Don't download this song". : ( But since I did download the album, LOVE IT will most likely buy it for myself with Christmas money.

Nope, not at all, I would and do give my music away for free with a caveat. My license does not allow anyone to use my music in any way for profit. I believe all forms of information should be free for everyone to use as long as they do not profit from it.

No, I wouldn't care - but given the standard of my singing, I don't think there would be many downloads!

I wouldn't either. I would appreciate it because they were listening to my music, although I would appreciate it MORE so if they were buying my CD, think about it.

I wouldn't mind, real singers aren't in it for the money.

I think if you are a new artist, the exposure is worth more than royalties.
